Co-hosted by the University of Waterloo, the Canadian Student Leadership Conference provides outstanding secondary school students opportunities to develop an innovative spirit through a variety of keynote speakers and workshops. ARCH Lab hosted a workshop which challenged students to develop innovative public health strategies aimed at improve both the physical and mental health of youth. The ideas exchanged were exceptional and student did a formidable job in presenting to a faculty panel. Special thanks to faculty panel, Drs. Sharon Kirkpatrick, Scott Leatherdale, and Kelly Skinner who had the difficult task of selecting the winning solution and graduate students in the School of Public Health and Health Systems, Amanda, Kirsten, Lesley, Braden, Stephanie, Irina, Jennie, Claire, Miriam, and Danielle for supporting the workshop participants. Congratulations to “Strength in Mind and Body” for their winning solution—an app that provides push notifications, GPS tracking, device locking features to promote positive health and well-being.
